The Centre for Supercomputing based in Abu Dhabi at the CERT (Centre of Excellence for Applied Research and Training)Technology Park features the first IBM Blue Gene/ L Supercomputer in South Asia, Middle East and North Africa.

Today the Blue Gene ranks as the number one fastest supercomputer on the TOP500 list, and holds 19 of the top 100 positions. The Blue Gene at CERT is the fastest in the Middle East, South Asia and North Africa region producing 5.7 Teraflops of supercomputing power and it is the only Blue Gene between Switzerland and Japan.
