General Training-> Work Readiness Program
The program is designed to assist nationals with varied educational achievements to secure job opportunities, primarily with the private sector. It provides training in basic skills in the subjects of English, Arabic, Computers, Mathematics and Workplace Skills. There is also a work experience component in real work environments thereby providing opportunities for students to apply their skills and adapt to the real world of employment. It equips participating nationals with the necessary skills to enter the job market and provide opportunities to build their future careers. Increasingly, those companies accepting students for work placement have provided students with full time employment opportunities upon completion of the program. HCT/CERT is uniquely situated to provide such a bilingual educational/vocational program as well as a recognized certificate diploma from the Ministry of Higher Education with a salary scale of (4/2) to ensure a career enhancement.

WRP – Ministry of Presidential Affairs
Established in 2001 by the Ministry of Presidential Affairs’ initiative and sponsorship in coordination with CERT/HCT. The Ministry of Presidential Affairs supervises the program and supports it completely.
The HCT designs training and educational curriculum and supervises the work placement in jobs offered by local organization and industries.
Since 2001 five groups of 983 male and female nationals were graduated from Abu Dhabi and Al Ain colleges. With the current group 6 of 701 candidates that will graduate in June 2008 will make the total number of all groups 1684 graduates.
WRP – Ministry of Interior
Correctional Education is a very specialized subset of education. In most countries, correctional education has been cobbled together by various state or federal departments with little expertise of education for juvenile or adult offenders. In 2006, the UAE Ministry of the Interior initiated this educational/vocational project to provide national prison inmates with the therapeutically designed personal skills and the required work skills in order to join the workforce and to be positively reintegrated in the mainstream society. Program delivery started at Al Wathba Correctional facility in February 2007 with 61 participants. Assuming the success of the HCT model, this can be developed and disseminated across all Emirates and could become a beacon and model for prison reform within the G.C.C.
