Health Education Programs-> CERT Health Sciences

1. Nursing – Bachelor’s of Applied Science
Four year baccalaureate degree preparing graduates to enter the profession of nursing.  Program designed to international standards, preparing students to practice and write licensure exams in the UAE.
Students are currently sponsored by the Health Authority, although future plans may include expanding program to other qualified students, as well as providing bridging programs for Diploma level nurses to achieve their Bachelor’s.

2.  Higher Diploma  and  Bachelors Degree in Pharmacy
Three year Higher Diploma, with one additional year for Bachelors degree.  Graduates ready to enter professional practice and write licensing examinations in the UAE.  Program currently undergoing review towards international standards.
Students are currently sponsored by the Health Authority, although future plans may include expanding program to other qualified students, as well as bridging programs for qualified students to upgrade educational levels to a Bachelors degree.   

3.  Higher Diploma and Bachelors of Medical Imaging
Three year Higher Diploma, with one additional year for Bachelors degree.  Graduates ready to enter professional practice and write licensing examinations in the UAE.  Program currently undergoing review towards international standards.
Students are currently sponsored by the Health Authority- Abu Dhabi , although future plans may include expanding program to other qualified students who wish to upgrade their education to a Bachelors Degree

4.  Bachelor of Science in Medical Laboratory Technology
Three year Higher Diploma, with one additional year for Bachelors degree.  Graduates ready to enter professional practice and write licensing examinations in the UAE.  Program currently undergoing review towards international standards.
Students are currently sponsored by the Health Authority, although future plans may include expanding program to other qualified students who wish to upgrade their education to a Bachelors Degree

5.  Bachelors of Bio Medical Engineering
Four year Bachelors degree to prepare qualified students to undertake the professional role of a Biomedical Engineer.  Current students are sponsored by the Health Authority – Abu Dhabi. 

6.  Diploma and Higher Diploma in Food Inspection
Two and three year programs designed to prepare entry level graduates to work in Food inspection in all levels of inspection, including meat, dairy, and agricultural products. All students graduate with effective English communication, computer, and mathematical skills, as well as the technical skills required for Food Inspection. Current students are sponsored by the Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority.

7.  Higher Diploma in Environmental Health
Three year Diploma preparing graduates to work in environmental health field, including elements of public health.  Students able to work in an interdisciplinary setting.  Current students sponsored by the Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority.

8.  Diploma of Dental Nursing
Two year diploma program to prepare graduates to assume entry level roles as Dental Nurses in a variety of public, private and community dental settings.   Diploma is designed to meet the standard for licensure of the British Dental Nurses Association.
Current students sponsored by the Department of Health and Medical Services, although future plans may include other qualified students who wish to undertake education to become qualified Dental Nurses. 

9.  Abu Dhabi and Dubai - Higher Diploma in Paramedical Science
This three year program is fully accredited by the Harrisburg Paramedic group and prepares graduates to work in the highly skilled and fast paced field of emergency services skilled care.  As an integral member of the health team, graduates of this program care for clients who are require emergency care pre-hospital. 
Currents students are sponsored by the both the Dubai and Abu Dhabi Police force.  However, future plans include program offerings to other qualified students. 

Continuing Health Education
CERT is in the planning phases of setting up a Continuing Health Education department that will offer fully accredited continuing education programs for health professionals.  Health professionals will be able to earn CEU’s to help them re qualify for licensure as well as expand their range of current health care knowledge.   In addition, health care courses for the non health care professional are under consideration. 
A full range of CPR, ACLS and PALS courses are currently available.
