The Network of Excellence in Training, or Next, is a commercial enterprise providing training for engineers and geoscientists. Established in 2000, the NexT consortium of Heriot-Watt University in Scotland, Texas A&M University in the USA, University of Oklahoma in the USA and Schlumberger Oilfield Services has developed unique, accredited training for oil and gas industry professionals. Course work, includes continuing education units (CEU), certificate programs and graduate degrees in the geosciences and petroleum engineering granted through the university partners. NexT provides an array of training delivery methods for the upstream oil and gas industry, including capability assessments, technology mastery, industry short courses, certification programs and on-lien courses.
